On a rainy day in Honolulu. Playing around with the semi-gimmicky inverted-puddle-reflection-street-photo-thing. I could never seem to find a big enough puddle for anything super amazing though. I guess Honolulu has some good drainage systems.
Oahu’s Diamond Head
Flew the Mavic 2 up pretty high and got this shot head-on of Diamond Head Crater on Oahu. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this angle because it doesn’t show that Waikiki silhouette view. It gets a little scary flying the drone around with so many low-flying helicopters blasting around.
We can also see Koko Crater in the background from this angle too.
Koolina Sunset
A few photos from an epic sunset at Koolina on Oahu’s west side taken with a Canon 5d and 24-70mm L lens. I was all excited about flying the drone around Koolina but its deep in a no-fly-zone because of the nearby airport.
Oh well, the sunset wasn’t too shabby. I almost totally kook’d it in the second photo and barely made it back up the rocks without getting washed away before the wave hit. I was WAY too close to the waves. There was a huge swell filling in that evening. No wonder so many people get hurt. The Hawaiian ocean can change on you so quickly.
7 on 1 Jiu Jitsu
When the kids jiu jitsu class revolts. This was taken at the grand opening party for HNL Jiu Jitsu in Hawaii Kai. One of the kids class instructors was mobbed by his students. Always a safe and fun time. Try jiu jitsu if you haven’t yet!
Crosswalk Drone Photos
Experimenting with my Mavic 2 in the city. I think I need to try this again closer to sunset. Need them long shadows.
Orange and Blue
Two photos of Downtown Honolulu today. Lately I’ve been wandering around on my lunch breaks with my camera. Good fun.

Hawaii Triple Crown
Finally getting around to posting some photos from November’s Hawaii Triple Crown of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Farrington High School.
